I might be the last person, or one of the few last people to switch from Windows 7 to Windows 10…..or even 8. However, recently I decided to make the switch. It wasn’t fun as there are at least 4 computers in my house that are used regularly, and needed to be wiped, so I can install a fresh copy of Windows 10. I normally format and wipe my computers regularly, and this task was easy since I had image files of backups on my computers, however switching to Windows 10 I had to start over from scratch.
While telling my IT guy at our company what I was planning to do on the weekend, he showed me a site which made the whole process a little less painful. Ninite.com. What is ninite.com? Basically, this site allows you to pick all the programs you need on your computer, and then ninite.com will make a custom installer for you with the programs you chose. Not all of my computers are configured the same way, however there are some essential programs that all of my computers need like Chrome, Firefox, Java, Itunes, Teamviewer, Dropbox, and GOM player to name some.
And then as mentioned before, you press “Get your ninite” and voila. You have an installer that will install all the programs you chose. My favorite part? A lot of free programs ask you if you want to install Bing toolbar, games, and or other software in exchange for using the free software. Ninite.com will automatically decline those installs while installing your programs.
I hope you found this useful. This may be nothing to a lot of people out there, however for people who build computers, format their computers regularly, or even for people who just need updating of their essential programs, this will be a very helpful site. D.I =)
