As much as I like to barbecue, I like eating barbecue at restaurants too. Especially when it comes to baby back ribs. At home, we normally barbecue ribs with a salt and pepper dry rub. If you haven’t tried ribs this way, you are missing out. My normal go to places for ribs when eating out, are normally Lucille’s smokehouse bbq and Tony Roma’s. I recently started going to Famous Dave’s after a co-worker kept telling me how good it was. So far I must agree.
Pictured above is the Meal for 2. We got ours with ribs, chicken, brisket, corn, fries, cole slaw, beans, and cornbread. The meal for 2 is $59.99, and will fill up 2 adults. We normally have leftovers, and its enough for one more small meal. The food tastes great when re-heated in a oven. It turns out the founder of Famous Dave’s (Dave Anderson) actually started smoking barbecue in trash can’s, and that is why our platter is on a trash can lid.
Famous Dave’s offers several different sauces to accompany your food. Personally I like “Rich and Sassy”. This is our choice of sauce when cooking our bbq chicken at home too.
We haven’t been to any of their other locations, so we cannot speak for all locations….however the Henderson location that we go to has really good service. The staff is super friendly, and so far we have never had any issues with staff, cleanliness, or the food. So what makes Famous Dave’s my new favorite place for ribs? This decision is based on overall experience, service, location, and price. If you asked me which restaurant had the best tasting baby back ribs, I would probably say Tony Roma’s. However, when you factor in the sides, the price, and the total package, Famous Dave’s gets my vote hands down.
